West Ham Board “Sacrificing” Six Points by Delaying Graham Potter Decision

Fresh reports suggest the West Ham board will allow Graham Potter to remain in charge for the upcoming trips to Everton and Arsenal before making a decision on his future.
While some see the international break as the natural moment for change, many supporters believe the delay risks further damaging a season already under serious strain.
Delaying The Inevitable
Potter’s position has come under intense pressure following the 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace at the London Stadium. The result, which followed heavy losses against Chelsea and Tottenham, left parts of the fanbase chanting 'you're getting sacked in the morning' to Potter, who looked hopeless on the touchline.
Yet, despite the growing discontent, it is understood the board’s current stance is to give Potter the next two fixtures — Everton away on Monday night, and Arsenal away at the Emirates — before reassessing. The rationale appears to be that these matches were always going to be difficult, and any new manager would be unlikely to get results in them.
Graham Potter is unlikely to be sacked over the coming days but remains under extraordinary pressure after another home loss.

There are also suggestions of a potential break clause in Potter’s contract which could be activated after 18 months, but it doesn't seem that should play a role in the timing of his sacking as he was only appointed in January this year. What is clear, however, is that the uncertainty is unsettling both the squad and the supporters, with every week of delay only intensifying the scrutiny to the board and manager.
Replacement names have already begun to circulate. Nuno Espirito Santo has been pictured in Essex close to David Sullivan's house, Slaven Bilic, a popular figure among the fans, has been mentioned, as have, Gary O’Neil, Sean Dyche and Kieran McKenna. But with no decision imminent, West Ham look set to continue under Potter for at least two more high-profile games.
What Next?
The coming fortnight will prove decisive. If Potter can somehow turn the tide at Goodison Park or the Emirates, it may strengthen his position heading into the international break. But if results go as expected, the spotlight will fall firmly back on the board, with questions not just about Potter, but about the hiring process of his replacement with the club only shopping in the 'free' managerial market and whether the hesitation has already cost the club six more valuable points.
